Singapore ceremonies
Unfortunately, due to the continually evolving COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all offshore graduation ceremonies.
These ceremonies are a highlight for our entire Murdoch community and we are disappointed that we will not be able to share this important academic celebration with you at this time. We understand how important it is to celebrate your achievement with loved ones.
We will provide further information when it becomes available.
Ceremony dates
Singapore ceremonies are held twice a year in March and October. Dates are confirmed several weeks prior to the event.
Important tasks
There are some steps you need to complete before you can attend your graduation ceremony. Learn more about attending a ceremony.
Complete your graduation
Make sure you've completed all the steps to graduate on time.
Win a refund of your Singapore ceremony fee
Collect your regalia on the Friday before your graduation and you will automatically be put into a prize draw to win a refund of your ceremony fee.
Disclaimer: The refund is for the ceremony fee (regalia hire) only and does not include guest ticket and document purchases. The refund will be made to the account from which the regalia payment was made. There will be one winner per ceremony.
About the ceremony
Ceremony fee
The fee includes your regalia, admission and refreshments for yourself and two guests. You can choose to hire or purchase your regalia.
Award | Ceremony fee for regalia hire | Ceremony fee for regalia purchase |
---|---|---|
Bachelors, honours, certificate and diploma | A$120 | A$279 |
Masters | A$130 | A$295 |
Doctorate | A$150 | A$493 |
Venue
Singapore graduations are held on level four of the Raffles Convention Centre, which is conveniently located close to transport and places to eat and drink before and after your ceremony.
Aged, disabled and wheelchair access
If you or any of your guests are a wheelchair user, have a mobility issue or require special seating arrangements, advise the Graduations Office at least a week before the ceremony so suitable seating may be allocated.
What to wear
You must wear the complete Murdoch University academic regalia for the award you are receiving, or the regalia for previous awards.
Accepting your certificate
As you reach the stage your name will be checked before it is announced. Once announced, walk across the stage to the Chancellor to receive your certificate.
The ceremony photographer will be positioned in front of the stage to take a photo of the presentation. Following this you will then continue across the stage where an usher will direct you back to the graduand seating area.
After the ceremony
It’s time to relax and celebrate with your family and friends. Enjoy light refreshments and have your photos taken.
To make your night run more smoothly, arrange in advance where you will meet your guests after the ceremony. Waiting at the exits can cause congestion.
Return your regalia
Hired regalia must be returned to the registration desk before you leave.
Photographs, DVD and framing
Photographers will be available before and after the ceremony for studio portraits. No bookings are necessary. A non-refundable service fee of A$30 is payable on the night and is additional to the cost of photos you purchase. You can view and order packages combining individual and family photos from GFP Graduations.
Souvenir Stage photos of your certificate presentation will be printed with year of graduation and Murdoch University crest, and are available to view, purchase and take home on the night.
A complimentary download of your certificate presentation will also be made available. Use your student ID as your voucher code. A different code will be provided if you have studio photos taken.
