WA Cricket is the governing body of cricket in Western Australia, overseeing the development of the game throughout metro, rural and regional areas in the State. The organisation strives to be a leader in Australian sport, while helping achieve the national vision of cricket being Australia’s favourite sport and a sport for all Australians.

Students interested in careers across the sport industry can also explore our Diploma of Sport and Business, developed in collaboration with WA Cricket, this one year Diploma builds practical skills in sport management, business and industry engagement. Through this industry-connected partnership, students gain valuable insights into the sporting sector and opportunities to build professional networks.
WA Cricket also provides Murdoch students with opportunities to volunteer at coaching clinics and school programs, as well as casual employment opportunities through student work placements at the WACA Ground.
Sports science research in action
Through the partnership, our sports science research is helping WA Cricket’s elite cricketers:
- improve their efficiency and speed when running between the wickets
- fine-tune their batting and bowling actions
- conserve energy
- help players to refine their actions to avoid injury.
