Partner with Murdoch University to deliver TLC Learning for Tomorrow and FlexiTrack High
Interested in becoming a partner school to offer your year 12 students TLC Learning for Tomorrow or FlexiTrack High? Learn more about our programs and how your school can partner with us.
TLC Learning for Tomorrow
Our established TLC program provides an exciting alternative pathway to University for Year 12 secondary school students across three school terms.
Classes run after school at the Rockingham, Mandurah, and Murdoch campuses, one day per week for 2 hours, with an additional 5 hours per week of independent study required. TLC is SCSA endorsed for 1 WACE point.
Students who successfully complete TLC receive an alternative entry to university-equivalent to a 70 ATAR.
Partnerships
TLC is focused on offering opportunities to students from partner schools in W.A., where educational disadvantage may be present, providing a contiguous secondary school conduit to undergraduate study at Murdoch University for non-ATAR students. In 2025, TLC is partnering with 35 schools and continues to grow. We are always open to new schools wishing to become partners.
If you would like to express your interest in partnering with Murdoch to offer TLC Learning for Tomorrow to your students, please complete the form on this page and someone from the program will be in touch with you.
A little bit of TLC
The personal contact of TLC is one of the program's strengths. This relationship-based style of engagement builds on the collaborative principles of mentoring, where important relationships are created and fostered between teachers and learners. The individualised nature of the program provides intimate growth opportunities for reluctant students and timid learners.
Guidance through the entire journey
How it works
Students must be concurrently enrolled in a partner high school for year 12 and must not be completing 4 or more ATAR subjects.
When applying, we require all students to provide a Semester 1 or Semester 2, year 11 report, and a completed TLC Student Declaration.
Students are required to complete two units, achieving a minimum of 50% or more in each, to successfully complete the TLC Learning for Tomorrow Program.
In school terms 1 and 2, students complete their core unit UPP010 Learning for Tomorrow This unit is focused on the development of crucial university communication and thinking skills so that students can thrive in a University context.
In school term 3, students undertake an elective unit of their choosing based on their interests and desired undergraduate degree pathway.
They can select from:
- UPP005: Introduction to Health Professions
- UPP006: Introduction to Education
- UPP007: Introduction to Criminology and Digital Media, or
- UPP009: Introduction to Business and Innovation.
Note: Students intending to apply for a Bachelor of Nursing at Murdoch University must complete UPP005.
When I lost all hope, the TLC Learning for Tomorrow patted the dust off my back. This dust was very heavy on my shoulders and was made up of low self-esteem, discouragement, and disbelief in myself… The TLC program has guided me to grow as an individual and become more aware of my surroundings.

This unit has helped me understand what university life is going to be like. It showed me how much more independent I will need to be and how hard I will need to work.

FlexiTrack High – An award winning pathway

Partnerships
FlexiTrack High is a unique collaboration where Murdoch works closely with schools to bridge the gap between secondary and tertiary study.
We provide all the educational materials, resources, and program-specific training for staff. Students will also have one of our tutors available online for added guidance and support.
