Help with studying
If you are seeking help with learning remotely, Murdoch University offers student support services over the phone, by email, or video chat to ensure online learning works for you.
Peer Academic Coaches
Our Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) are successful students who offer free online academic assistance for all Murdoch University students. PACs are available 8.30am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Learning Advisor consultations
If you need more intensive help with your studies you can ask one of our Peer Academic Coaches to book you an online or phone consultation with a Learning Advisor.
Online help for specific subjects
If you are searching for information on mentoring, further online resources or looking for help with a particular topic, including English language and communications, maths and statistics or graduate research we have help available.
If you have enquiries about finding information resources, referencing, book loans or My Unit Readings, our Library is available to help you by phone or online.
Learning remotely can be an adjustment, so if you are experiencing any technical issues with learning from home you can contact myMurdoch Technical support.
Online student services
To support you learning from home we have a range of Murdoch uni services available to you over the phone, through email, or via video chat. Discover how to access our student services by checking the myMurdoch student portal as information is regularly updated.
Health and wellbeing support
Murdoch University Health has medical and counselling services to help you look after yourself through your time at university. Our Health Service staff understand what is important to our students and are here to make it easier for you to manage your health, get help when you need it and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Our Medical Service is continuing to provide services as normal, but we advise anyone with fever symptoms to call ahead of their appointment to speak with the triage nurse. If you have recently travelled or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 first call the COVID-19 Health Information Line on 1800 022 222.
For medical services, you phone call and Zoom (secure video chat) appointments are available.
Disability or difficulties with learning online
Learning from home assistance and support services are available if you have a disability or medical condition, or you are caring for a person with disability.
If you have an Equity Quality Assisted Learning (EQAL) support plan you can manage your EQAL support to request what assistance can be provided to learn remotely.
If you do not have an EQAL plan as you have been able to manage your disability or learning difficulties effectively previously however are facing challenges learning from home you can access or ask for that help now. Our Accessibility Advisors will work with you to develop your online support plan that outlines the type and level of support you need at Murdoch.
Our counselling team is here to support you with a range of online services available. You can make an appointment to talk with one of our experienced counsellors by phone or video chat.
We can help you with many challenges including:
- managing stress
- adjust to learning from home
- if you’re in need of motivation
- or if you need help coping during this difficult time.
Clinical psychology support for postgraduate students
Are you enrolled in a higher degree by research and are feeling worried about the impacts of the COVID-19 situation? Murdoch Psychology Clinic invites you to join their online support groups where you receive support and will meet other postgraduate students.
The groups are run by staff and students from the Murdoch Psychology Clinic and provide evidence-based information about the best ways to cope, tools for resolving problems that might feel insurmountable, tips on how to manage stress, and how to make sure you're looking after yourself while isolating.
