Managing your EQAL plan
After you register your disability or medical condition, and your support plan is created, you can access your plan in the Student Equity Quality Assisted Learning (EQAL) Assistant database.
The Access and Inclusion Office will provide you with your login details as this will be different to any other logins that you have at Murdoch. Your plan will be used to provide access to the services, equipment or other support that you need.
Share your information
When your EQAL plan is finalised, you need to share it with your unit coordinator for each of the units you are studying. Your unit coordinator will be able to work with you, with support from the Access and Inclusion Office to meet your needs. You can also share your plan with your tutors or anyone else that can assist.
Student EQAL Assistant database
As soon as you have confirmed your enrolment each semester, you need to add your unit details into the Student EQAL Assistant database. During semester it is important you update any information that changes in the database. This includes adding details of your mid-semester assessments as soon as dates are scheduled.
The Access and Inclusion team are alerted with what support you need for each unit and what has been arranged. You will receive a status update to ensure everything is ready.
If the Student EQAL Assistant database is not updated with a minimum of five days notice, your support may not be available.
Your final exams
All final exams are scheduled during the defined exam period at the end of the semester or trimester.
If your final assessment is being run by the Exams Office, they will be aware of your accommodations and will send you an email confirming your assessment. There is no need to provide further information to the Exams Office.
If your final assessment is being run by the Unit Coordinator, please ensure you have sent your EQAL plan well in advance to your Unit Coordinator.
