Dubai ceremonies
Ceremony date
The Dubai ceremony is held once a year in November. Dates are confirmed several weeks prior to the event.
The safety and wellbeing of our community is the number one priority for Murdoch University. Ceremonies will adhere to government restrictions relating to COVID-19 and as such precautions such as proof of vaccination, mask wearing and social distancing may apply to your ceremony. Prior to the ceremonies we will provide you with information on the applicable restrictions and precautions, and how you can help us ensure the safety of our community.

About the ceremony
Ceremony fee
The Dubai ceremony fee is A$170. The fee includes the purchase of your regalia, admission and refreshments for yourself and three guests.

Travel and Parking
Aged, disabled and wheelchair access
If either you or any of your guests use a wheelchair, have a mobility issue or require special seating arrangements, email Completion and Graduations at least two weeks before the ceremony so suitable seating can be arranged.
Your regalia
You must wear the complete Murdoch University academic regalia for the award you are receiving, or the regalia for previous awards.
Your regalia must be collected from Dubai Student Services before the day of the ceremony. You will be emailed further information regarding the collection of your regalia prior to the ceremony.
Pronunciation of your name
To ensure your name is pronounced correctly during the ceremony, advise Completion and Graduations of the correct pronunciation at least two weeks before.

Collect your guest tickets
Your guest tickets and ceremony instructions must be collected when you register for the ceremony.

Ceremony proceedings
The graduation ceremony starts promptly and follows a set program. You need to arrive on time to register and take your seat so you don’t miss out.

Accepting your scroll
As you reach the stage your name will be checked before it is announced. Once announced, walk across the stage to the Chancellor to receive your scroll.
Stop briefly to accept the scroll from the Chancellor as the ceremony photographer takes a photo of the presentation. You will then continue across the stage where an usher will direct you back to the graduand seating area.
After the ceremony
It’s time to relax and celebrate with your family and friends. Enjoy complementary light refreshments and have your photos taken.
To make your night run more smoothly, arrange in advance where you will meet your guests after the ceremony. Waiting at the exits can cause congestion.
Photographs and video
Photographers will be available before and after the ceremony for studio portraits. No bookings are necessary.
