Why the Hub matters

The Student–Staff Partnership Hub is a central space for collaboration, innovation, and co-creation at Murdoch University. It showcases opportunities where students and staff can work together as colleagues, shaping teaching, learning, and university experience.

Partnerships between students and staff go beyond traditional consultation. They are built on shared responsibility, mutual respect, and the recognition that both groups bring valuable expertise. This hub provides resources, stories, and opportunities to foster those partnerships at Murdoch.

What does partnership mean?

Partnership means working with each other, not for each other. It is about. transforming the university experience from something transactional, where students simply receive education, into something collaborative, where students and staff co-create knowledge.

Partnership is aspirational, and the more students and staff partner on projects or in decision-making, the more impact this has.

What’s in it for you?

Depending on the type of partnership opportunities you participate in, you might be able to:

  • Enhance learning by co-designing curriculum, teaching resources, and assessment approaches.
  • Drive innovation by generating creative ideas that improve the student experience and university life.
  • Empower your voice through opportunities to influence decisions that shape learning, policy, and strategy.
  • Build community by fostering collaboration, inclusion, and respect across students and staff.
  • Develop professional skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and project management.
  • Create impact through projects that strengthen Murdoch’s culture of partnership and continuous improvement.
  • Gain recognition, work experience and employability skills that might open future job opportunities.
  • Earn academic credit or remuneration through select programs and roles.
