If you’re graduating from Year 12 in 2022 and are planning to study at university in early 2023, secure your place at Murdoch Uni by applying for an early offer.
To be eligible, simply apply directly through Murdoch or TISC, using your:
- Year 11, or mid-year Year 12 ATAR or IB subject results or
- Recognised non-ATAR pathway. Simply identify that you are on a recognised pathway to meet entry to Murdoch, for example through studying a Certificate IV or an enabling program like Murdoch’s FlexiTrack High or TLC course.
Once you’ve received your early offer, there may be some conditions you need to meet, such as completing Year 12 or your non-ATAR pathway, and meeting Murdoch’s English requirements.

There are two ways to apply to Murdoch University. You can:
You are encouraged to register
with TISC even if applying directly with Murdoch.
Make sure the Murdoch course you're interested in is shown as your first preference in your TISC application.
Both options are open for applications from 4 April. If you’re applying for the Bachelor of Science / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, you will need to apply through TISC. Offers will be made on a rolling basis from the date of application. Please allow two to three weeks for us to process your application.
We recognise that the COVID-19 pandemic has created disruption to schooling, and that securing a place in a course early based on your results to date and intent, can relieve some of the stresses felt in your final year of schooling. With a successful early offer, you can go through your final year of high school knowing that your university journey with Murdoch is secured. Giving you the freedom to focus solely on seeing out your final year and getting prepared for university.
Year 12 students studying in Australia and graduating in 2022 are eligible to apply through this program. This includes Year 12 students studying both ATAR or non-ATAR subjects. Applications must be made for an undergraduate course for Semester 1, 2023.
Yes, if you are completing Year 12 (or the equivalent from another state) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) program within Australia, then you can apply for the Year 12 Early Offer Program. You will need to apply as an international student and meet the English requirements. Please see the FAQ on Do I need to pass English? for details.
Applications for the Year 12 Early Offer Program will be open from 8am on Monday 4 April 2022, and will close at 5pm on Friday 9 December 2022.
You can apply for all Murdoch undergraduate courses through the Early Offer Program except for the Bachelor of Science / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. If you’d like to apply for this course, you will need to apply via TISC and meet the entry requirements.
Yes. You can apply direct to Murdoch or via TISC to be considered for an early offer into our Bachelor of Nursing course, at either the South Street or Mandurah campus.
As Nursing has a quota on places, and is a highly competitive course, early conditional offers will be made to students with the highest level of academic achievement, subject to quota allocations. Any applicant who does not receive an early offer will still be considered in the offer rounds in December.

We provide many pathways to study at Murdoch University for students who are not completing ATAR subjects. Many of these pathways can be completed during Year 12, such as portfolio entry, Certificate IV, FlexiTrack High, TLC110, and Big Picture Academy. Non-ATAR students who are on a recognised pathway to university are also invited to apply to receive a conditional offer into their desired course.
We also offer flexible post-schooling pathway programs such as OnTrack Sprint, OnTrack and FlexiTrack or our intensive programs like Law Start.
No, but you will need to complete Year 12 and supply evidence of this (for example, your School Statement of Results, issued toward the end of October, or the Western Australian Statement of Student Achievement, WASSA, issued by SCSA).
Completion of your WACE is strongly encouraged. The WACE is an important achievement to demonstrate the breadth and depth of learning, and formally recognises your graduation from secondary school. It is important for a range of purposes, including post school employment. Completing your Year 12 studies and trying your best will be an important foundation and preparation for university level study.
To meet English Language Competency (ELC) requirements for Murdoch University, you will need to complete your Year 11 and 12 studies at an Australian or English speaking school, or complete two years of Vocational Education Training in Australia. If you don't meet ELC this way, then you will need to pass ATAR English or demonstrate your ELC another way.
You can demonstrate or meet the English requirements for entry by sitting the Written English component of the Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT) test, which is administered by TISC. You’ll need to request permission from Murdoch to sit the test, after which we’ll send you a permission letter that will enable you to register for the test.
International onshore students
To meet English Language Competency (ELC) requirements for Murdoch University, you need to pass ATAR English or demonstrate your ELC another way.
You can demonstrate or meet the English requirements for entry by sitting the Written English component of the Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT) test, which is administered by TISC. You’ll need to request permission from Murdoch to sit the test, after which we’ll send you a permission letter that will enable you to register for the test. Alternative tests for International students include IELTS, Pearsons and Cambridge Advanced English.
Some courses require higher levels of ELC for entry and professional registration. Details are on the individual course pages.
We will determine your predicted selection rank as it compares to our entry levels based on your end of Year 11, or mid-year Year 12 subject results. When you apply, you’ll need to upload your end of Year 11, or mid-year Year 12 school report.
We will make an upward adjustment of your Year 11 results if you meet one of the following criteria:
- you attend a RISE school
- you live in a RISE postcode
- you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- you are the first in your family to attend university.
A RISE adjustment will also be applied by TISC on Year 12 results after they have been scaled and moderated.

We have several pathways to meet eligibility to Murdoch courses, so the documents you need to upload will depend on the pathway you are using for your application:
- ATAR or International Baccalaureate: Please upload either your 2021 end of Year 11 report, or your 2022 mid-year Year 12 report.
- Certificate IV: You’ll need to provide evidence of your enrolment in an accredited Certificate IV program, which includes details of the provider delivering the course.
- FlexiTrack High or TLC110: FlexiTrack students should upload a short personal statement and TLC110 students should upload a statement of validation to confirm you are in the program in 2022.
- Portfolio: If you are intending to apply via Portfolio, please have evidence of your 2022 Year 12 subject enrolment, or a statement about your knowledge and activity that relates to the course you are applying for. Your offer will be conditional on submitting a successful Portfolio Application and School Endorsement form on completion of your Year 12 studies.
- International Big Picture Learning Credential: Please submit a letter from your provider with your predicted IBPLC levels for each of the six learning areas.
- Other Year 12 Programs: Please upload evidence of your enrolment. Your offer will be conditional on successfully completing that program at the required standard.
When applying direct to Murdoch, you’ll be able to select up to five course preferences.
Your highest preference should be the course you’d most like to study. We recommend making your second preference a course that you can use as a pathway to your first preference. For example, you may put the Bachelor of Laws as your first preference, and the Bachelor of Criminology as your second preference, so if you don’t meet the entry requirements for Law, you can study Criminology and apply to transfer to Law after your first semester.
If you decide to make OnTrack your first preference, please make your second preference your desired undergraduate course of interest. That way, you’ll receive an offer to study OnTrack in Semester 1, 2023, as well as a conditional offer for your desired course to commence in Semester 2, 2023.
Unit sets are majors within a course, and they help to make sure your study plan and units selection support your interest area and studies. Make sure you check out the course details before you apply. Unit sets (majors) are counted as course preferences.
The early offer program is only available for Semester 1, 2023. If you want to start at a different time, you can apply after you complete Year 12 for an unconditional offer through one of our many pathways.
If you have applied for an Early Offer, here’s what you need to know next.
Successful applicants will receive a conditional offer on a rolling basis from the date of application. If you qualify, you should receive an offer within two to three of weeks of applying.
A conditional offer means there is something we need you to do before we can admit you to your course in 2023. Your conditional offer letter will tell you what your conditions are. For example, it may be that you need to provide evidence of completing Year 12 or another pathway, such as a Certificate IV.
Successful completion of Year 12 and your pathway will not only help you prepare for university study, but it will also enable you to meet our English language requirements. Once you have uploaded evidence of completing Year 12 or another pathway, we’ll be able to give you an unconditional offer, which you can accept. This will allow you to formally enrol in your course and sign up to your classes!
If you decide to change your preferences, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll update your application. Please be aware if you have a current conditional offer it will be withdrawn and your new preferences will be assessed. In the email, please include:
- An email subject containing your application ID number (you’ll find this on the application confirmation email you would have received from Murdoch).
- Your name and your new course preferences, ordered clearly from 1 to 5.
This will update your previous application.
If you have applied through TISC, you can update your preferences directly.
We’ll assess your course preferences up until the point you are eligible to receive an early offer. This means that we’ll issue you an early offer for the highest course preference you are eligible for. For example, if you’re not eligible for your first preference, you could receive an early offer for your second preference. However, if your Year 12 mid-year or end of year results are better than predicted, you can re-apply for your first preference using these results.
If you’re applying for a course under the Year 12 Early Offer Program, we’ll use your Year 11 ATAR subject results, or mid-year Year 12 ATAR subject results to create a predicted selection rank.
Yes. Current Year 12 students can re-apply for courses using their final Year 12 ATAR results.
To be considered under the Early Offer Program you must apply before 5pm on 9 December 2022. You will receive either a conditional offer or an unconditional offer, depending on when you apply and what documents are required (please see question above regarding the documents required for your application). You won’t be able to accept your offer until you receive an unconditional offer. We will start making unconditional offers as soon as possible using School Statement of Results, issued toward the end of October, or when you are able to evidence successful completion of your pathway. If you are required to submit evidence showing you have met the conditions of your offer, you will need to do this before the deadline as advised in your conditional offer letter.
Once you receive an unconditional offer, please accept or defer your offer by the date specified in your offer letter.
Whether you apply to Murdoch through our Early Offer Program, through TISC, or directly to the University after you receive your final Year 12 results, all pathways will be equally considered.
A conditional offer is not deferrable, however, when you receive your unconditional offer of a place in an Undergraduate degree, this can be deferred for up to two years for most courses.
No. Our Year 12 Early Offer Program is only available for applications prior to 9 December 2022. After this date, we will use your final Year 12 results to make an assessment for entry.
