Million Moves Launch Event - 27th August
Join us for the official WA launch of the Million Moves Challenge! Murdoch University, in partnership with AusActive, will host this exciting event on 27 August from 12:30pm to 2pm at Northern Plaza. Enjoy group fitness taster sessions, live performances, free food, giveaways and a Movement Expo. With external dignitaries and VIPs in attendance, this is a great opportunity to showcase what the Murdoch community is all about. We encourage everyone to come along, get involved and show what we can achieve when we come together.
Million Moves Challenge 1-21 September
The Million Moves Challenge runs from 1-21 September, with a goal of reaching one million minutes of movement as a community. Sign up for the Murdoch team and help us show what being part of Murdoch is all about. There are plenty of prizes, discounts and giveaways on offer just for signing up, and logging your minutes is easy. Simply record any physical activity you're already doing, whether it's walking, running, cycling, swimming or sport. Need some extra motivation? Murdoch Cricket Academy makes a strong debut
The inaugural Murdoch Cricket Academy (MCA) enjoyed an impressive first campaign at the UniSport T20 Cricket Nationals on the Sunshine Coast. In its first year and Murdoch's first-ever entry into the competition, the men's team reached the quarter finals, while the women's team secured a bronze medal. The results mark an exciting start for the Academy as it continues to develop talented student-athletes and strengthen Murdoch's presence on the national cricket stage.

Murdoch Active is excited to launch our new Exercise Physiology service, helping our community move better, feel stronger and improve their overall health. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing a health condition or looking for expert support to achieve your fitness goals, our Accredited Exercise Physiologist can create a personalised plan to help you succeed. Appointments are now available on campus.
Murdoch's International Esports Invitational : Launches this September
On the 12th September, students from Murdoch University's campuses in Australia, Singapore and Dubai are gearing up for an unprecedented esports competition this September as the university hosts its inaugural International Esports Invitational Series. The tournament will see top players represent their campuses in fierce competition across fan-favourite games including Counter-Strike, Valorant and League of Legends. The event marks a significant milestone for Murdoch's global student community, fostering international connections, cultural exchange and campus pride while celebrating the rapidly growing world of competitive gaming.
Active Kids July Program delivers record growth
Active Kids continues to go from strength to strength, with our July program recording a 50% increase in bookings compared to last year and welcoming more than 660 children across 1,850+ activity sessions. The program also saw strong customer retention, with 60% of participants returning, and successfully launched our new Gaming Camp for teenagers.
Bookings are now open for both our School Term Sports Program and the September-October School Holiday Program. Please help us spread the word through your networks and communities so we can continue to inspire more young people to get active, have fun and build lifelong healthy habits.

Get ready for Unity Games 2026 on 26 November! With more sports, games and activities than ever before, this year's event promises plenty of fun, friendly competition and team spirit. Registrations open in early September, so start rallying your teammates now. Will your team be in the running for the coveted Champions Pin and Unity Games Trophy?
