Since launching its first esports program in 2020, Murdoch University has become a leader in Australia’s growing gaming and esports industry. As the only university in Western Australia with a dedicated esports and gaming facility, Murdoch continues to invest in the world of gaming — from casual play to cutting-edge research and professional competition.
The Murdoch Esports Gaming Hub offers state-of-the-art spaces for students, staff, and the wider community to explore every aspect of gaming. Whether you want to play competitive esports, study gaming, or collaborate on innovative gaming research projects, our facility provides opportunities for all experience levels.

Esports Gaming Hub
Esports Gaming Hub features:
- 12 gaming desktops
- VOD Review TV
- Student free time - free access for Murdoch Students between 8am – 4pm for up to two hours.
Outside of these hours, or if you are not a Murdoch student playtime can be purchased by the hour. Visit Murdoch Active reception to purchase time and get signed-up with your free ggLeap account to access the stations. Purchased time will never expire until used. Users will need to own the games they wish to play on their relevant game library platform such as Steam or Epic Games.

Memberships
If you find yourself becoming a regular, consider our weekly membership for unlimited playtime—a more cost-effective option than one-time payments. Memberships are flexible with no lock-in terms and can be cancelled anytime with two weeks' notice.

Group bookings and availability
The Esports Gaming Hub is a shared space designed for gaming, events, and training activities. At times, the university may reserve the hub in its entirety for exclusive use. Bookings are not essential for individuals however we encourage users to check availability via our online booking system or by checking the Bookings channel in the Murdoch Active Discord. For group bookings, contact esports@murdoch.edu.au.
Murdoch Active Esports Discord
Stay updated on all things gaming at the Hub, chat with other gamers, and be notified of upcoming events and opportunities to represent Murdoch University in competitive leagues.
Nintendo Switches
Students can opt to borrow a Nintendo switch between 8am–4pm for use on our foyer TV through a simple swap system with your student card. We can provide game cube controllers for up-to four players at a time.

Under 15s
Participants under the age of 15 will have to fill out and provide a parental consent form prior to playing in the Gaming Hub. Parents/Guardians will also have to supervise under-aged users while playing.
