What is a Major?
A major is your primary area of focus within a degree. It determines the core subjects you'll study and the skills you'll master.

Major overview

Major in finance and shape financial strategy

Behind every major business decision is a financial strategy. Build the expertise to analyse markets, evaluate investment opportunities and guide organisations in how they fund growth, manage risk and allocate capital with a Finance major in our Bachelor of Business

During your finance major, you’ll examine how organisations raise funds, assess investments and operate in global financial markets. Topics such as corporate finance, treasury management, investment analysis and international finance help you understand how financial decisions influence organisational performance and long-term growth.

You’ll develop advanced analytical capabilities, from financial modelling and portfolio analysis to understanding capital markets and derivatives. As digital technologies reshape financial systems and global markets evolve, these skills help organisations respond to uncertainty and identify new opportunities.

Broaden your business perspective and strengthen your ability to connect financial strategy with wider organisational goals by combining the Finance major with another Bachelor of Business discipline such as Accounting, Banking, Business Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, FinTech, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Management (AHRI Accredited), International Business, Management or Marketing

You can pursue a career in finance across many sectors – advising organisations on investments, analysing financial markets or helping businesses manage capital and risk in complex economic environments.
