What is a Major?
A major is your primary area of focus within a degree. It determines the core subjects you'll study and the skills you'll master.

Major overview

Turn legal insight into business advantage with a major in business law

Every organisation operates within a legal framework. The Business Law major within our Bachelor of Business degree helps you understand how laws shape commercial activity, preparing you to navigate legal responsibilities and make confident business decisions.

During your business law studies, you’ll explore how legislation and regulation affect everyday business operations. From contracts and employment law to corporate governance and consumer protection, you’ll learn how organisations manage legal obligations while maintaining ethical and compliant business practices.

Along the way, you’ll develop the skills to recognise legal risks, interpret regulations and resolve disputes in practical business contexts. This knowledge is highly valuable whether you work in corporate management, government, consulting or the not-for-profit sector.

Studying business law as part of our Bachelor of Business also gives you the flexibility to combine your major with other disciplines such as Accounting, Banking, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Management (AHRI Accredited), International Business, Management or Marketing. This broader perspective helps you apply legal insight across different business functions and industries.

Whether your goal is to manage legal compliance, advise organisations on business regulations or launch your own venture, our Business Law major equips you with versatile knowledge that supports a wide range of career pathways.
