What is a Major?
A major is your primary area of focus within a degree. It determines the core subjects you'll study and the skills you'll master.

Major overview

Turn your ideas into action with an Entrepreneurship and Innovation major

Great businesses start with an idea, but success comes from recognising opportunities and turning them into viable ventures. The Entrepreneurship and Innovation major within our Bachelor of Business helps you develop the mindset, strategy and practical tools needed to transform ideas into sustainable businesses.

Innovation rarely happens by accident. Through this entrepreneurship major, you’ll learn how entrepreneurs identify opportunities, test new concepts and build solutions that respond to real market needs. You’ll explore approaches such as design thinking and Lean Startup methods while learning how innovation can shape competitive advantage in modern organisations.

You’ll also examine the financial side of entrepreneurship, including how ventures attract funding, work with investors and access both traditional and non-traditional sources of capital. Understanding these funding models and investor expectations will help you evaluate the viability of new business ideas.

Studying entrepreneurship and innovation as part of our Bachelor of Business allows you to combine this major with disciplines such as Accounting, Banking, Business Law, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Management (AHRI Accredited), International Business, Management or Marketing. This broader business perspective helps you turn innovative ideas into commercially viable ventures.

Graduates apply these skills in many ways, launching startups, building social enterprises, developing new products within established organisations or leading innovation initiatives.
