Murdoch University is proud to offer a unique opportunity for outstanding domestic candidates undertaking a PhD in child health, supported by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation.

This prestigious program will fund a cohort of four PhD candidates, providing enhanced financial support and research funding to help support child health researchers at Murdoch.

Eligibility

Your PhD project must align with child health (antenatal to 25 years) and may include, but is not limited to:

  • Early development and prevention
  • Physical and mental health
  • Clinical and community health interventions
  • Health systems and policy impacting children and young people

Only domestic candidates are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

We are seeking high-potential current and prospective PhD candidates working on projects in child health who are:

  • Currently receiving an RTP stipend, or
  • Eligible for admission to a PhD at Murdoch University and intend to commence during Semester 1, 2026.

Payment Method

Successful applicants will receive:

  • $24,000AUD annual stipend top-up (in addition to the RTP stipend)
  • Additional $12,500AUD annual funding that can be used for:
    • Project costs
    • Conference travel
    • Fieldwork and collaboration
    • Publication costs (e.g. open access)
