Rose and Stan de Pierres Scholarship
This scholarship was first established in 2008 by donors who are passionate about the support of regional students and sustainability principles. The Rose and Stan de Pierres Scholarship invites students in their final year of study to apply, from the following courses:
- Environmental Engineering
- Renewable Energy Engineering
- Environmental Management and Sustainability
- Environmental Management and Sustainability (Honours)
- Environmental Science
- Environmental Science (Honours)
The scholarship is intended to reward a student with a history of high academic or professional achievement, and preference will be given to those who have relocated from a regional or remote area to study at Murdoch.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident
- be enrolled in your final year of study (3rd or 4th year if undertaking honours)
- be enrolled full-time in either:
- Environmental Engineering
- Renewable Energy Engineering
- Environmental Management and Sustainability
- Environmental Science
- have a record of excellent achievement in previous post-secondary study or professional work.
How to Apply
This scholarship opens for applications from the first week of September each year.
You are welcome to express your interest in this scholarship by emailing us at scholarships@murdoch.edu.au noting your name and the scholarship you are interested in within the subject heading of the email. Expressing your interest will enable us to send you a reminder to be one of the first to apply for this scholarship as soon as it opens.
Required Documents
- a personal statement of no more than one A4 page outlining your suitability for this scholarship
- evidence of your excellent achievement, professional work or post-secondary studies (this could be a copy of your academic transcript* from another institution or a written reference from a person suitable to comment on your achievements e.g. employer or academic staff)
[*N.B. students do not need to provide a transcript for studies completed at Murdoch University]
Payment Method
Payments will be made directly into recipient's nominated bank account in the following instalments:
- $1,500 in the semester you are awarded
- $1,500 in the consecutive second semester
Scholarship payment processing commences from week 7 of each respective semester.
Note: While we endeavour to process and pay all scholarship student payments within week 7 and/or 8 of the respective semester, in some unforeseen circumstances your payment may arrive in your bank account later than week 8.
All payments are subject to your acceptance and ongoing compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
