Postgraduate Access and Equity Scholarship
Murdoch aims to provide support and incentive for students from a background of hardship to continue their tertiary education at a postgraduate level.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident with a Humanitarian Visa, or a Permanent Resident who has been in Australia continuously for the last 12 months
- demonstrate that you are experiencing financial hardship
- intend to enrol in an eligible postgraduate level course such as a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters by Coursework
- not be enrolled in a Commonwealth HECS supported postgraduate course such as the Master of Teaching or Master of Applied Psychology in Clinical Psychology
If you are enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research please seek scholarship information from the Graduate Research office.
How to Apply
This scholarship is currently accepting applications.
Prospective students who have applied to Murdoch University, or current students with a Murdoch University Student ID number - Please complete this application form and upload your supporting documentation to your application form.
Prospective students who have not yet applied to Murdoch University - please complete this application form and email your supporting documentation to scholarships@murdoch.edu.au. Please include your name and the scholarship you are applying for in the subject line of the email.

Required Documents
- Statement (no more than two A4 pages) addressing the following questions:
- what are your living arrangements in terms of dependents and people who support you?
- what, if any, unusual circumstances of hardship have you experienced that have impacted on your ability to study?
- what are your personal and career goals?
- how will the scholarship assist you in achieving your personal and career goals?
- Evidence of financial hardship (e.g. Centrelink Income Statement, ATO Notice of Assessment, Payslip)
- Evidence of personal hardship
File naming: Where possible, please name your files using your surname, first name initial and date.
For example: ApplicationSmithJ25Aug26; StatementSmithJ25Aug26; ReferenceSmithJ25Aug26
Payment Method
The tuition fee waiver will be applied to your student account after the census date.
The tuition fee waiver is subject to acceptance of, and ongoing compliance with, the terms and conditions.
