This scholarship aims to support young people of the Peel region to reduce the financial pressure and the living and study costs associated with attending university.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • a resident of the Peel region (that is you reside in areas with the postcode of either 6121; 6122; 6123; 6124; 6125; 6126; 6180; 6181; 6207; 6208; 6209; 6210; 6211; 6213; 6214; 6215; 6390)
  • be enrolled full-time in your first year of any Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs) degree

 Students facing financial and/or personal hardship are encouraged to apply.

As this scholarship is intended to support young people, preference will be given to students who are under 21 years of age.

How to Apply

Prospective students who have not yet applied to Murdoch University - please complete this application form and email your supporting documentation to scholarships@murdoch.edu.au. Please include your name and the scholarship you are applying for in the subject line of the email.

Prospective students who have applied to Murdoch University, or current students with a Murdoch University Student ID number - Please complete this application form and upload your supporting documentation to your application form.

Required Documents


  • Evidence of living in the Peel Region.
  • A personal statement of no more than 300 words, outlining:
    • your exceptional personal circumstances;
    • any barriers in relation to your study and their impact
  • At least one written reference by a person (not related to you) from your local community who is able to comment on your character and commitment to community. 

 

Payment Method

Payments will be made directly into recipient's nominated bank account in the following instalments:

$1,500 each semester for up to 3 years.

Scholarship payment processing commences from week 7 of each respective semester.

Note: While we endeavour to process and pay all scholarship student payments within week 7 and/or 8 of the respective semester, in some unforeseen circumstances your payment may arrive in your bank account later than week 8.

All payments are subject to your acceptance and ongoing compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
