Dr Steve Fisher Memorial Waterways Science Scholarship

Dr Steve Fisher Memorial Waterways Science Scholarship has been established to honour the memory of Peel-Harvey Catchment Council employee, Dr Steve Fisher.

Steve Fisher was the Senior Scientist at the PHCC for more than 7 years. Few people have made such a huge impression and contributed so much to our Ramsar wetlands and our community. Steve was a friend, mentor, and inspiration to many. Steve's favourite part of his job with PHCC was working with the school kids - he inspired so many. His communication skills meant that he could explain science with passion, humour, and clarity, whether it was to grade 6 kids or Members of Parliament.

Steve connected with so many science networks and universities, supporting and attracting science for managing and protecting our wetlands. He made himself available to community organisations, school groups and so many more. Steve made a huge contribution and will not be forgotten.
