Calver Family Scholarship

The Calver Family Scholarship was established in 2009 and is open to students who are intending to enrol in an honours or research masters course in the Environmental and Conservation Sciences, within The College of Environmental and Life Sciences, with a research project focusing on animal ecology.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship you must: 

  • intend to enrol full-time in the either a Bachelor of Science Honours, Research Masters with Training, Accelerated Research Masters with Training or Master of Philosophy and select one of the following majors:
    • Biological Sciences
    • Conservation and Wildlife Biology
    • Environmental Science
    • Environmental Management and Sustainability
    • Marine Biology
    • Marine Sciences 
  • undertake research in the areas of animal ecology
  • have a record of high achievement in previous studies or professional work 

Please note: you must not be in receipt of any other scholarship.

Prospective students who have not yet applied to Murdoch University - please complete this application form and email your supporting documentation to scholarships@murdoch.edu.au. Please include your name and the scholarship you are applying for in the subject line of the email.

Prospective students who have applied to Murdoch University, or current students with a Murdoch University Student ID number - Please complete this application form and upload your supporting documentation to your application form.

Required Documents

  • a summary of your intended honours project of no more than one A4 page
  • the written confirmation from your proposed honours supervisor confirming supervision of your project
  • a personal statement of no more than two A4 pages
  • a written reference from a person qualified to comment on either your academic studies or current or past employment.

Payment Method

Payments will be made directly into recipient's nominated bank account in the following instalments:

  • $4,000 in the semester you are awarded
  • $4,000 in the consecutive second semester
  • $2,000 upon the successful submission, and grading of your Honours thesis

Scholarship payment processing commences from week 7 of each respective semester.

Note: While we endeavour to process and pay all scholarship student payments within week 7 and/or 8 of the respective semester, in some unforeseen circumstances your payment may arrive in your bank account later than week 8.

All payments are subject to your acceptance and ongoing compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
