Advanced Indonesian Language Travel Bursary

Are you looking to extend professionally as a Teacher?

The Advanced Indonesian Language Travel Bursary can assist you to gain fluency and experience abroad as you immerse yourself in Indonesian language and culture through the ACICIS in-country language immersion program.

Building on the LEAP Program, this bursary will assist the recipient to gain further experience and advanced language competency to teach upper level Indonesian in Western Australian schools.

Eligibility

Available to qualified teachers of Indonesian who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Education (Teaching Indonesian - C1153) through the LEAP program. These teachers will qualify for 12 credit points Recognition of Prior Learning toward the Graduate Diploma in Asian Languages (G1072) to be undertaken through the ACICIS language immersion program in Indonesia (one semester full-time, or part-time equivalent).

To be eligible for this bursary you must:

  • be a qualified teacher of Indonesian seeking to achieve Advanced level proficiency.
  • have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Teaching Indonesian (C1153)
  • be enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Asian Languages (G1072)

This scholarship is currently accepting applications.

Current students with a Murdoch University Student ID number can complete this application form and upload your supporting documentation to the application form.

Required Documents

This scholarship requires you to provide the following documents:

  • completed application form
  • a full academic transcript.
  • a cover letter explaining the applicant's language teaching experience and Graduate Diploma study plan through ACICIS (full semester or short courses).
  • a letter from the applicant's principal, indicating the contribution that additional training to advanced proficiency will make toward the development of the language program at their school; or alternatively from one academic referee who is qualified to comment on the applicant's language studies to date.

Payment Method

Payments will be made directly into recipient's nominated bank account in the following instalments:

  • $1,000 paid after unit and ACICIS enrolment 

Scholarship payment processing commences from week 7 of each respective semester.

Note: While we endeavour to process and pay all scholarship student payments within week 7 and/or 8 of the respective semester, in some unforeseen circumstances your payment may arrive in your bank account later than week 8.

All payments are subject to your acceptance and ongoing compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
