What is a Major?
A major is your primary area of focus within a degree. It determines the core subjects you'll study and the skills you'll master.

Major overview

Bring stories to life with our major in screen production

If you want to create films, television programs or digital video content, the Screen Production major in our Bachelor of Creative Media helps you develop the storytelling and technical skills to bring your ideas to the screen.

Throughout your screen production course, you’ll develop practical filmmaking skills across the production process, including scriptwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, production design, video editing, sound recording and sound design. Along the way, you’ll explore the key creative roles involved in film and television production and learn how collaborative screen projects are planned and delivered.

You’ll learn from internationally recognised filmmakers and work in specialised design studios and digital production facilities, equipped with professional tools used across the design industry. Through our student creative consultancy MESH, you’ll gain experience working on real projects for clients, while developing practical production skills and professional collaboration.

You can also broaden your creative media degree by pairing Screen Production with other creative majors such as Games Art and Design, Graphic Design, Photography or Sound Design, expanding your skills across visual storytelling, digital media and creative production.

Across your studies, you’ll create a range of projects such as drama, documentary, factual and experimental productions, building a professional portfolio of screen work that showcases your storytelling and technical production skills and prepares you for a career in screen production across film, television and digital media.
