Turn your passion for travel, experiences and events into practical skills for a global tourism career. With our Bachelor of Arts Tourism and Events major, you’ll explore how tourism and events shape economies, communities and cultures, with a strong focus on sustainability and real-world impact.
Throughout your tourism and events studies, you’ll examine how destinations and events are developed, managed and evaluated, building practical skills in event planning while exploring their connections to policy, economic development and environmental and cultural management.
You’ll learn from industry experts, take part in field trips to tourism destinations and build hands-on experience applying your knowledge in real-world contexts.
You can tailor your Bachelor of Arts to your interests and career goals by combining this major with others within the degree. Pair Tourism and Events with Sustainable Development to design environmentally responsible tourism initiatives, or with International Aid and Development or Community Development to explore tourism as a tool for community engagement and global development. You can also combine your studies with Politics and International Studies to understand tourism policy and governance, or with Sociology to examine the social impacts of tourism and events. Pair with History, Asian Studies, Indonesian or Japanese to develop culturally informed tourism experiences, or combine with English and Creative Writing or Theatre and Creative Production to enhance storytelling and audience engagement in tourism and events.
