Student Support Program to the Australian Defence Force
Access support to facilitate success in your studies and enable you to commit to your Australian Defence Force obligations.
In collaboration with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) we have developed a support program for students who are members of the ADF. The program also includes reservists.
Benefits of the program
As a member of the Australian Defence Force we understand you need extra support to help you balance your study commitments and other obligations.
Your liaison officer assists you from the time of entry through to your graduation. They support you to access benefits and liaise with academic staff on your behalf so you can balance your ADF obligations and study commitments.
Your liaison officer is available to make sure you know what options are available, how to access them and act on your behalf.
If you need help to tailor your course around your commitments your Special Programs liaison officer can help you take advantage of flexible learning options such as changing study mode, online catch-up lecture recordings and other online resources.
Deferred assessment and assignment extensions
You may have difficulties meeting assignment deadlines or sitting an exam at the scheduled time. Under these circumstances you may be eligible to defer an exam or assignment due date.
To apply you need to submit supporting documentation.
Alternative arrangements for exams
If your commitments require you to travel during the exam period, you can arrange to sit your exams at an alternative location. The normal fee for making alternative exam arrangements will be waived.
Credit for previous studies
You may relocate states, or even countries, prior to the completion of your studies. You may have also completed units from other institutions. In recognition Murdoch may, in appropriate cases, waive the completion requirements needed to receive a Murdoch degree or transfer credits to another institution.
