Meet the team

Jane Foster
Career Development Advisor
Jane is a careers practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in an advisory and skill development capacity within various industry sectors including vocational rehabilitation, community services and most extensively, higher education. With an Honours degree in Psychology and postgraduate qualifications in Career Education and Development, Jane empowers students to find purpose in their studies, develop their strengths and managing their own personal career journey. She is currently working collaboratively with academics to embed employability in the curriculum, maintains co-curricular resources and modules as well as providing individual career guidance and advice to Murdoch students and recent graduates.

Alexander (Xander) Treuren
Careers & Employability Officer
Industry and Events
Xander has extensive experience in the recruitment industry following a double degree in Human Resources Management and Business Law. His industry experience means he has a good understanding of the difficulties faced when starting out in the world of work, but also the needs of employers. He enjoys chatting with students about their career goals and forging connections with employers by hosting and promoting a range of employer engagement events and activities to help students develop their professional network and employability. He manages the myMurdoch Career portal for jobs, events and resources and is also actively involved in supporting the Murdoch Industry Mentoring (MIM) program.
