Woolah, Beeliar! The Animated Paintings of Shane Pickett is a journey across the Noongar Six Seasons created through an evocative pairing of the Late Great Shane Pickett’s (1957-2010) paintings with selected sites across the Beeliar Wetlands. The wetlands are rendered through LiDAR imagery, millions of scanned points, which act as cloud-like medium capable of registering the movement and colour of Shane Pickett’s gestural lines. These fragments of Noongar Country are like ultra-detailed dioramas, frozen in time, that are slowly illuminated by Shane’s living spirit.
