"Having won prizes while obtaining my Law degree at ANU in the 1970s, I know how much prizes are appreciated by winners. I resolved that, when in professional practice, I would be a donor of prizes. As I was a Tax specialist at the Bar, I wished to encourage the study of taxation, and my prizes were for the top students in that subject.
If the prizes are an incentive to students to perform at their best, then they serve a very important function. Whoever attains the top mark in the subject deserves to be acknowledged and recognised for the outstanding achievement.
Murdoch has an outstanding reputation for producing graduates who take their place in the competitive commercial world. I am delighted to be associated with Murdoch. "

"It was a great honour to be awarded the prizes that were so kindly donated by the sponsors of the 2009 Murdoch Awards Ceremony.
Murdoch University has a culture that celebrates excellence and encourages outstanding achievement, and this cornerstone of teaching excellence was promoted by the acknowledgment of such achievements by affiliated industry sponsorship and donations.
It was clear to me through the enthusiastic and energetic attitudes the students had to receiving their awards, that acknowledgement of such high achievement by external sponsors is greatly appreciated and of the highest honour.
The awards and the prizes donated to those who achieved such high performances can be seen as an investment in the future leaders of our great nation."
