Surgery Teaching Facilities

The new Veterinary surgery facility at Murdoch University’s College of Veterinary Medicine replaces the original surgery teaching rooms built in 1976. The facility features a large sterile surgery room including the latest technology enabling students to view live procedures, a surgical preparation area and facilities for animal anaesthesia.

The $9million facility was made possible by $3million funding from the Commonwealth Government and is used extensively, including classes in small animal surgery and anaesthesia, medical examination, animal handling classes and for final year surgery classes.

This state of the art building facility officially opened in 2011 and has enhanced the education and training of veterinary students in Western Australia.
