Simulated Learning Education

We have a strong emphasis on teaching and learning in realistic environments to prepare you for the real world. Students will work on simulated shifts in our clinical simulation suites in preparation for real clinical placements. Simulation and real world placements are at the heart of learning and teaching in our School of Health Professions.

In your first week as a student you will start attending the clinical simulation suites to learn how to transfer your theoretical knowledge into clinical nursing skills. Each week throughout your degree you will work in small groups under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse learning how to care for patients, families and communities. In first year, you will some essential nursing skills, like making a bed and taking a blood pressure, and then over the three years the complexity of patient care will be increased to prepare you for your future as a Registered Nurse.
