Reflections from 2015 Murdoch students

“Travelling to Singapore as part of the New Colombo Plan was an exciting, challenging experience which required me to take risks and really put myself out there in order to make the most of the experience. I learnt so much during my two weeks at the United World College of South East Asia and the experience really helped to connect the theory about how children learn with practice.” Jenny Matthews, B.Ed Early Childhood & Primary – Singapore internship 2015

“My two-week placement at UWCSEA has been the highlight of my teaching degree at Murdoch University so far. The facilities and educators at UWCSEA were incredible and unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Beyond this I was even more impressed at the warm welcome we received at UWCSEA and the overwhelming sense of belonging to the school community that I will remember the most.Lydia Tyler, B.Ed Early Childhood & Primary – Singapore internship 2015

“UWCSEA is an absolutely amazing school the staff and students were so welcoming and happily accommodated us into their already busy schedules. Being an international school the diverse range of cultures is celebrated and students are all required to learn another language (many being bi-lingual already). Together the five of us learnt a lot from our students and mentor teachers, explored the city of Singapore, tried amazing new foods and created lifelong memories. I highly recommend this experience and thank Murdoch and the New Colombo Plan for making it possible.” Charlotte Huggins, B.Ed Early Childhood & Primary – Singapore internship 2015
