School of Arts

The School of Arts honours program is an added fourth year of study offered to high achieving graduates of the BA (or equivalent) within their chosen Arts major. Undertaking an Honours year allows students to extend their grasp of the principles and practice of their specialised subject area, and further develops ability for independent research. The program involves a combination of advanced coursework units and independent research towards a thesis paper in the chosen field of study.

Completion of Honours is prerequisite for a Doctor of Philosophy (PHD). An Honours qualification of at least 2A is ordinarily required for admission.
