What is a Major?
A major is your primary area of focus within a degree. It determines the core subjects you'll study and the skills you'll master.

Major overview

Study movement science and prepare to become a chiropractor

Human movement plays a central role in health, performance, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Delivered as part of our Bachelor of Health Science/Master of Clinical Chiropractic double degree, the Movement Science major develops your understanding of how the body moves, functions and responds to physical activity, preparing you for careers focused on movement, musculoskeletal health and human performance, including becoming a chiropractor.

Throughout your movement science course, you’ll study areas such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, motor control and functional movement. You’ll examine how muscles, joints and the nervous system work together to support movement and physical performance while developing an understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation and physical wellbeing.

As part of your clinical chiropractic degree, you’ll gain practical experience applying movement science principles in laboratory, clinical and professional health settings, including using your skills working with real patients in our on-campus chiropractic clinic. You’ll learn through evidence-based teaching and hands-on activities designed to strengthen your analytical, observational and problem-solving skills.

By the time you graduate, you’ll have developed a strong understanding of human movement and musculoskeletal function, preparing you for diverse opportunities across health, rehabilitation and movement-focused industries, while building the foundations for a chiropractic career.
