Launch your food science career faster with an integrated degree
Food innovation, safety and sustainability are shaping the future of global food systems. Our Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition/Master of Food Science is an accelerated four-year degree designed to prepare you to respond to these evolving industry demands with advanced scientific knowledge and practical expertise.
Across your combined food science and nutrition degree, you’ll build strong foundations in food chemistry, food biotechnology, food safety, human physiology and human nutrition. You’ll explore how food is produced and processed, how nutrients impact human health, and how safe, high-quality food products are developed for diverse populations.
As you progress into the master’s component, you’ll deepen your expertise in food science through advanced study and research. You’ll investigate complex issues in food production, safety and quality, building the analytical and technical skills to solve real-world industry challenges.
You’ll be mentored by experienced academics and food industry leaders and study within the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. You’ll also have access to the world-class Nambeelup Food Centre, part of the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA), where you’ll learn in industry-connected environments using cutting-edge technologies.
Throughout your food science course, you’ll apply your knowledge through practical learning and research, graduating with both a bachelor’s and master’s qualification and a competitive edge for a career in food science and nutrition.
