Sustainability: the green heart of Sunset Events
We are very excited that our partners at Sunset Events share our long standing commitment to sustainability.
Some of the initiatives you might have seen at Sunset's festivals, especially Southbound and Blues ’n’ Roots, include:
- A tree-per-ticket policy (Sunset will plant a tree for every ticket purchased)
- $3 Green Fee which goes to carbon reduction
- Green money - where patrons collect recyclables and receive a voucher to spend on merchandise, the bars and stalls
- Green team - a dedicated team of eco warriors
- The use of bio diesel and green energy
- Solar powered mobile recharge stations
- Eco stalls for environmental groups
- Free personal ashtrays
- Composting
- Environmentally friendly packaging
Their festivals also feature renewable energy displays and recycled art. Plus, the team help people to arrange car pools and use public transport to get to events... It’s no wonder they’ve already won three International Greener Festival Awards!
