Our Public Policy programs cover the analytical, practical and broad thinking skills required to design sound, lasting policies with local, regional and global impact. The aim of this stream is to equip students with a critical understanding of public, institutional and governance challenges.

Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM)

The Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) equips students with the strategic, analytical and professional skills for a career in the government, non-profit, and private sectors both in Australia and internationally. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyse, design and implement policy in complex institutional and regulatory environments.

A Masters degree is 2 years full-time, or part-time equivalent. Students with previous tertiary qualifications or professional experience may qualify for advanced standing.

Graduate Certificate in Policy and Development (GCPD)

The Graduate Certificate in Policy and Development prepares students for rewarding careers in government, the not-for-profit and private sectors, in Australia and internationally. Students will develop expertise in development policy, policy analysis and management practice across a range of policy settings. This course is designed for recent graduates and those exploring a new career direction.

A Graduate Certificate is 6 months full-time, or part time equivalent.

Flexible study options

Courses can be studied full-time or part-time, with units offered in evening timeslots and weekends throughout the semester. Units may also be completed in intensive blocks. All classes are delivered in small group seminars and workshops, augmented by online delivery, to fit the demanding lifestyle of a postgraduate student.

Course fees

Course fees vary by program and units selected.

The Annual fees for 2017 are as follows:

Master Courses

Domestic students:
$23,760 for a full-time load (24 credit points) per calendar year

International students:
$33,960 (Australian dollars) for a full-time load (24 credit points) per calendar year.

Graduate Certificate program is $11,880 for domestic students and $16,980 for international students.
