Internal medicine fees

An initial consultation with the Small Animal Medicine Service is $215.00. We will discuss any further charges with you during the initial consultation.

Please be aware that full payment is required on discharge and you must maintain a deposit of 50% of the upper estimation throughout your pet’s time in hospital.

To give you an idea of the sort of fees to expect for particular treatments, here are some estimated guides:

Anaemia (non-regenerative) work-up (includes initial consultation, haematology, iron studies, general anaesthesia and bone marrow aspirate + biopsy, day hospitalisation; not including intensive care and blood transfusion requirements) $1,900
Cardiology Clinic work up (includes initial consultation, ECG, blood pressure assessment, thoracic radiographs under sedation, echocardiography, day hospitalisation) $1,200
Cough/Dyspnoea work-up (includes initial consultation, thoracic radiographs under sedation, general anaesthesia and tracheobronchoscopy plus bronchoalveolar lavage, laboratory fees, 1 night hospitalisation; not including intensive care and oxygen support) $2,400
Endocrine (hyperadrenocorticism) work-up (includes initial consultation, haematology, biochemistry, cystocentesis to collect urine for urinalysis and culture, ACTH stimulation test, abdominal ultrasound under sedation, day hospitalisation) $1,600
Nasal Aspergillus treatment (includes initial consultation, general anaesthesia, clotrimazole soak and all consumables; not including sinus trephination if required) $1,180
Nasal work-up (includes initial consultation, general anaesthesia, computed tomography examination of the nasal cavity, rhinoscopy and biopsy plus associated laboratory fees, 1 night hospitalisation) $3,000
Seizures work-up (includes initial consultation, neurological examination, infectious disease serology, general anaesthesia, computed tomography examination of the brain, cerebrospinal fluid collection and analysis, day hospitalisation; not including screening haematology/biochemistry/urinalysis) $2,300
Vomiting/Diarrhoea work-up (includes initial consultation, abdominal ultrasound under sedation, faecal parasite examination, colon preparation (nasoesophageal administration of Go-Lytely plus enemas), general anaesthesia, oesophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy with mucosal biopsies of all regions, 1 night hospitalisation; not including screening haematology/biochemistry/urinalysis) $2,400
