Murdoch Applied Sports Science (MASS) Laboratory

The MASS Lab’s vision is to improve the way that athletes prepare for their sport, and perform in competition. To address this vision, our mission is to publish applied sports science research which focuses on developing athletic qualities that can enhance sports performance.

Key Research Themes

The work conducted in the MASS Lab is focussed on four key research areas, which are each led by an academic at Murdoch. Within each of these research themes, the theme leader supervises research students to undertake projects that will 1) address the focus of the research theme, and 2) contribute to the overall mission of the MASS Lab.

The list of our key research themes below includes basic information regarding some current/recent projects being conducted in each area.
