The School of Chemical and Mathematical Sciences provides a high quality environment for teaching, learning, and research in two broad discipline areas: Chemistry and Mineral Science and Mathematics and Statistics. Being one of the leading research groups of the University, our staff are passionate about their disciplines and are committed to sharing knowledge and helping students develop the skills needed for a diverse range of rewarding careers.
The School follows an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to teaching, producing the multi-skilled graduates that modern industry demands. All of our courses have a strong information technology basis appropriate to the needs of today's scientists and engineers. Students can choose from a range of courses, including undergraduate and postgraduate options, in Chemistry, Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Science and Mathematics & Statistics.
