Honours for ARC Fellows

Two Centre Fellows, Professor Ann Capling and our Director, Professor Kevin Hewison have been elected Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia (FASSA). Five Centre Fellows are members of this prestigious Academy.

For more than two decades, the Asia Research Centre has been an international leader in the study of East and Southeast Asia, undertaking fundamental disciplinary and interdisciplinary research examining a range of social, political, historical, environmental and economic forces and developments within this dynamic region.

The Centre’s objectives are to:

  • produce high quality academic research publications for international and domestic audiences;
  • foster the development of high quality research graduates; and
  • constructively contribute to public policy debate and public understanding on contemporary Asia.
