Open your mind to a career in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences

You may know that Murdoch University offers the only Veterinary Science course in WA. However you may not know that we have an entire working farm, a 24 hour veterinary clinic open to the public, a fully equipped Veterinary Hospital (complete with Cancer and Dermatology Clinics), a Pet Emergency Centre with “Animal ER” services and a world class Equine Centre with WA’s only equine operating theatres. The School is also heavily involved in research for animal diseases and training of specialist veterinarians in their field of choice.

And if you love animals – there are options other than Veterinary Science open to you too:

  • Animal Scientists work in all areas of agriculture such as government departments or even quarantine sections of our airports, protecting Australia from unwanted pests.
  • Biomedical Scientists may undertake research in anything from cancer research, viral diseases such as HIV-AIDS or parasite control of problems such as tapeworm. You could find yourself working in hospitals, universities, government and research institutes.
