Chris Vas

Dr Chris Vas

Organisational productivity, human capital, business and government

Dr Vas’ expertise lies in innovation and productivity policy, human capital development, industry trade policy through global value chains and public management issues.

Through the course of his professional experiences, he has designed and delivered leadership, strategy and management programs for public and private sector clients including Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Areva Energy, Maersk Ltd (Denmark), Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, Coca Cola and Vodafone.

Dr Vas can comment on business productivity, industry trade and global value chains. He is also an expert in organisational behaviour, human capital, public policy making and strategic future planning.

He is the Academic Director of Murdoch’s Executive Education Centre.

Greg Lopez 2

Dr Greg Lopez

Public policy, WA trade and investment

As a research fellow with the Murdoch Executive Education Centre, Dr Greg Lopez is focused on researching and developing case studies on key public policy issues impacting Western Australia and its main trade and investment partners in the Oceania and East Asia region. He is also researching and developing tools to measure the impact of learning and development programmes, as well as measuring the impact of the Centre’s programmes.

Before joining Murdoch University, Dr Lopez worked in various training, research, and advocacy capacities in the private and third sector. He has extensive experience in the region having undertaken in-depth research and analysis on a range of public policy issues.

Dr Lopez is educated both in Malaysia and Australia and holds a PhD in economics from the Australian National University.
Karen Thompson

Karen Thompson

Engagement Manager

Karen’s role as Engagement Manager sees her liaising closely with clients, industry associations, program participants and University staff. It includes marketing, communication, event management, stakeholder engagement and overseeing the delivery of many of executive education programs.

Karen has always enjoyed meeting people and helping them shape their lives, careers and organisations. Immediately prior to joining Murdoch University she was State Manager of Aquent, the global marketing recruitment company and her diverse background also includes roles in media, property development, FMCG and engineering.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing Management and Tourism) from Murdoch University, is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM). In recent years she has been on industry boards and committees for Curtin University and Edith Cowan University advising on undergraduate and postgraduate marketing degrees.
