Where work experience is life experience
Making a difference is not just something our researchers do: it’s a philosophy we apply across every aspect of our uni.
Our courses have a conscious. We believe work experience should help you to explore your career path and help to contribute to the wider community at the same time.
These are just some of the amazing experiences our students have been involved in around the world recently:
Chiro students helping in India
In West Bengal, a team of 25 Chiro students provided free chiropractic care, first aid and basic medical supplies to rock-breakers: children and adult who crush stones for a living.
School of Sustainability students at summit in Canada
A group of Environmental Science, Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development students participated in the World Student Environmental Summit (WSES) in Canada. The students were able to get a first-hand understanding of world environmental issues and embraced the chance to contribute to global solutions.
Vet students treating lions in South Africa
Ten of our Veterinary Science students took part in a field trip to Kruger National Park in South Africa. Our Vet students helped to vaccinate and give health-checks to some anaesthetised lions. While they did this, they had to keep a careful watch for other lions and signs of their lion patients waking up!
Media students working in the film industry
Our students took full crew roles in the production of My Past My Present. The project was the first feature film in Australia to be shot as an undergraduate teaching model – see some behind-the-scenes video footage about what they experienced.
As a Murdoch student, you don’t just graduate with a degree, you leave with the confidence, skills and free thinking you need to make a real difference in the world.
