Applying for university through TISC
If you’re an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or you’ve been approved or granted permanent resident status in Australia, you’re known as a domestic student. Even if it’s been a few years since you finished high school, all domestic students need to apply for uni through TISC (Tertiary Institutions Service Centre)
If you’re an international student, please contact us directly to find out how to apply.

Here are some answers to the most common questions about TISC...
“When do online applications open?”
Applications open on Monday 12 August 2013.
‘‘How much does it cost?’’
If you apply before 11pm on 27 September 2013 you will be charged less.
As a 2013 WA Year 12 WACE students born on or after 1 March 1994 it will cost $25.00 to apply. All other applicants will be charged an application fee of $54.00.
If you lodge your application after 11pm on 27 September, you’ll be charged a late processing fee of $130 – so it’s worth getting organised before then!
“How do I apply online?”
It’s easy! Visit the TISC website and complete the online application form. It’s a simple form and it’s a good idea to allow around 30 minutes to fill this out. During this process, you’ll need to submit up to six course preferences. Check out our top tips here for choosing your preferences.
If you’re currently in year 12:
- You’ll need to log in using the eight-digit Curriculum Council number that has been given to you at school.
- Fill in your personal details and submit up to six course preferences.
- Print your Application Coversheet as a record that you’ve applied.
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email. Once you have applied and TISC has processed your application processing fee, TISC will send you an email confirmation.
If you’re not in year 12:
- Fill in your personal details and submit up to six course preferences .
- You’ll be allocated a new eight-digit Curriculum Council number after you fill in the form (this will be written on the top of your Application Coversheet).
- Print your Application Coversheet as a record that you’ve applied and as a reminder to submit any documents requested on it.
- Submit your personal statement to TISC as well as any documents requested on your Application Coversheet.
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email. Once you’ve applied and TISC has processed your application processing fee, TISC will send you an email confirmation.
“How will I know if I have a good chance of getting in to the course I want?”
Read our tips for structuring your preferences, and check out last year’s cut-off score and see the recommended subjects. This will provide you with a useful background in your chosen study area. If it’s been a while since you left high school, the application process means that your personal statement, work experience and any additional study (TAFE qualifications etc) will be taken into account.
“When will I know if I got in to uni?”
Murdoch and other universities will make offers of admission in the second half of January and in early February. Mature age applicants may be made an early offer in late November/early December if admission requirements have already been met.
