Find out how much more there is to sports science than exercise and fitness
Our experienced and dynamic teaching staff will help you develop your passion for the field of sport and exercise science, as well as guiding your understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, nutrition and psychology.
You will also learn how to provide better health management and training support for your clients, by focusing on minimising injuries and achieving optimum performance through appropriate health, fitness and rehabilitation programs.
Access our state-of-the-art teaching and rehabilitation facilities on campus
Benefit from access to brand-new teaching and rehabilitation facilities due to open in 2011, for use by your academic year.
Some final year students following specific specialities will also be offered the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical practice with real patients at the facility. As one of these students you would be able to develop practical experience with real clients, helping project you forward as a confident practitioner on graduation - well-prepared for the future and hitting the ground running.
Why not combine your degree and increase your specialisation
The strong healthcare focus in our teaching emphasises long-term prevention, making this an ideal degree to combine with other disciplines in the area of health and well-being. For example you could easily combine your sports science studies with an area such as exercise science or move into our exercise physiology degree programme.
Additionally, if your aim is to be in sport but in the area of business, marketing or education, you can easily combine these degrees.
