Inspire a generation with Secondary Education

Get the qualifications you need to make a difference to lives of young people as a secondary school teacher.

Study your choice of specialist area

Becoming a secondary educator means you'll teach in a learning area that you have enjoyed, and share your passion for the subject with young people in Years 7/8 through to Year 12.

In this course, you'll choose a specialist area as your major, and another area of learning as your minor. You can choose from English, Drama, Media, Society and Environment, Science, Mathematics, Languages Other Than English (LOTE), or English as a Second Language (ESL).

You'll complete a Bachelor of Education in conjunction with your chosen subject. For example, if you'd like to become an English teacher you would study a Bachelor of Education and English. If you already have a degree in one of these subject areas, find out how you can apply for Education (Secondary) (GradDipEd).

Get practical experience to prepare for the high school classroom

This course includes school placements that increase in intensity as you progress through your degree, to build your skills and confidence. When you graduate, your qualification will be recognised by the WA College of Teaching, state education departments, and independent and Catholic schools.
