Primary Education and Australian Indigenous Studies

Are you committed to the young hearts and minds of Australia and imagine a future where everyone is respected and encouraged to succeed? Our joint degree will enable you to bring an understanding of Indigenous issues to your teaching in Primary Schools. You will enroll concurrently in a Bachelor of Arts in Australian Indigenous Studies degree and a Bachelor in Education Primary.

Primary Teacher Education graduates are qualified to teach across the curriculum at all levels in the primary school. Australian Indigenous Studies offers a broad interdisciplinary approach to Australian Indigenous cultures and societies.

Its scope includes both traditional and contemporary forms of Australian Indigenous culture and develops an overall framework for understanding the variety of traditions that together constitute Aboriginality.
