Our Degrees are changing.

In 2014, Part I (first year) units will be introduced with Part II (second year and higher) units becoming available in subsequent years. Detailed information about Part II will be available here from mid-2014.

Inspire young people with a Health and Physical Education Teaching degree

Learn how to become an effective classroom teacher, able to teach across a range of areas including literacy and numeracy skills. You will also work with young people to promote healthy and active lifestyles that will lead them toward a better future through education, health and physical activity.

Our innovative approach to teaching will help you understand how to engage with your students and build creative teaching and learning environments, both in the classroom and on the oval.

Combine teaching with your passion for sport and fitness

We will prepare you for a career as a mainstream primary teacher for years 1-7, teaching across a range of curriculum areas, as well as teaching you the specialist skills you will need as a health, physical education and sports teacher for years 1-10.

You will learn about educational theory and practice and how to prepare lessons, assess and teach in the curriculum areas of Maths, Science, English, Arts, Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education.

Our schools need you on their team

You will gain a wide range of theoretical and practical hands-on training with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of experienced teachers through in-school placements, designed to help you gain the necessary skills to be an effective educator, both in the classroom and on the sport field.

Graduates are recognised by the Western Australian College of Teaching (WACOT) as well as the respective State, Catholic and Independent school departments, organisations and associations.
