Master of Plant Biosecurity

Join a rapidly growing industry and help protect our agricultural industries

As a biosecurity specialist you will be joining a rapidly growing field of experts working across industries including agriculture, environmental science, sustainability, and international and domestic trade. Your role will be to help monitor, identify and prevent the economic, social and environmental impact of those harmful plant pests and diseases.

Benefit from strong links with research institutes and industry

Our teaching staff have strong links with external research centres including the CRC for Plant Biosecurity, State and Federal agencies and the agricultural industry. This will be particularly helpful to you as you complete your advanced, supervised investigation of a selected plant biosecurity research problem for your dissertation.

You also become eligible for membership to the Australian Entomological Society, the Australian Plant Pathology Society, the Australian Ecological Society, the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science, the Australian Society of Horticultural Sciences and the Australian Society for Risk Analysis.
