Nursing and Midwifery facilities

The School of Health Professions boasts a range of modern facilities equipped with a simulation room, realistic hospital wards, areas you can relax and study in, as well as high-tech audio-visual equipment for teaching purposes. These facilities will give you access to study in real-life environments under the direction and supervision of technicians, tutors and lecturers.

Simulation Room

This dedicated state of the art simulation room is used for demonstration and assessment purposes. ‘SimMan’ is a highly realistic computerised patient simulator which enables you to practice life saving skills and other technical skills like checking blood pressures and inserting IVs in a simulated environment.

Clinical Laboratories

Both of the 8-bed wards look just like hospital wards allowing you to practice your studies in a simulated environment. With a seminar room off each ward, you can learn the theoretical aspects first and then practice in a ward setting.

Bio Science Laboratory

The dedicated science lab is used if you study bioscience units in your first and 2nd year.

Recreational facilities

The recreational facilities areas enable you to both study and relax. The range of areas include a learning common with services provided by librarians and teaching and learning staff throughout the semester, plus an alfresco area to give you the opportunity to sit undercover in the fresh air and study. There is also a student kitchen with heating and fridge facilities plus beautiful grounds to relax in.
