Master of Applied Psychology in Clinical Psychology
Qualify as a practising clinical psychologist and make a direct contribution to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals and communities. In addition this degree qualifies you to work as a clinical psychologist for the health department and all other government services.
Develop your practical experience in real-life clinical environments
Become skilled in prevention, research, intervention, and evaluation techniques through supervised training at our modern Psychology Clinic. Here you will gain hands-on experience working with real clients. All of the supervisors are experienced and currently practicing clinical psychologists. This supervision is supported by intensive coursework units.
The final part of your degree is to complete at least three approved placements. One placement is to be organised at a adult clinical facility, one at a child clinical facility and one at a rehabilitation facility.
Use our fully-accredited program as a foundation for your PhD
After completing the first year of your Master of Applied Psychology you have the option to transfer into the Psychology PhD course. If accepted, you could choose to be conferred with both a Master of Applied Psychology and a PhD.
Our staff are committed to teaching and research supervision and all our clinical psychology courses are fully accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and recognised by the Australian Psychological Society and the relevant Registration Board.
