As a biosecurity specialist you will join a rapidly growing field of experts working across industries including agriculture, environmental science, sustainability, and international and domestic trade.
You will learn how State and Federal government agencies and industry respond to exotic incursions, how they manage of pest organisms and their effects on trade - benefiting from particularly strong links with external research centres such as the CRC for Plant Biosecurity.

You will also explore the range of key activities involving risk analysis, quarantine and surveillance currently preventing introduced species or 'exotic organisms' crossing our borders, from our dedicated and professional teaching staff.
After completing your Graduate Certificate you can then apply to join the Graduate Diploma in Plant Biosecurity.
You also become eligible for membership to the Australian Entomological Society, the Australian Plant Pathology Society, the Australia Ecological Society, the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science, the Australian Society of Horticultural Sciences and the Australian Society for Risk Analysis.
